Wellington Lakeside Market and Pop-Up German Biergarten

The Village of Wellington announced the opening day of its lakeside market in downtown Wellington. The market will open on Friday, October 1, along Wellington Drive on the scenic Wellington Lake waterfront, just behind the Wellington Community Center at 12150 W. Forest Hill Blvd.

The opening day of the market, which will be held on Friday evening until spring, will be accompanied by the start of a three-day German-style Pop-Up Biergarten featuring Hofbrauhas Bier from Munchen.

Formerly Twilight Green Market in Wellington, the Lakeside Market is now exclusively operated by the Wellington Parks & Recreation Department. The market will be open, weather permitting, on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. between October 1, 2021 and April 22, 2022, with a few exceptions.

The only such evening market in western communities, the Lakeside Market aims to provide a relaxed and relaxed environment for the community to connect and enjoy an early start to the weekend. Shop, sip, eat and stroll while supporting local small businesses. Lighting along the promenade, in vendor stalls and in the market provides a charming natural ambience to complement the stunning sunsets, and an ongoing program of free entertainment at the adjacent Wellington Amphitheater is the perfect way to cap it off. a pleasant evening in the open air.

Vendors and products found in the market include: artists and artisans; locally grown herbs; fresh baked goods, breads and pastries; fresh flowers; fruits and vegetables; homemade and gourmet food products; jewelry and clothing; and herbal and vegetarian products.

Other amenities at the Lakeside Market include the nearby Wellington Community Center, lush green space, restrooms, benches, pontoon and boat parking for Lake Wellington residents, a new playground and a shade structure along the promenade, Scott’s Place Playground and Wellington Amphitheater.

The first day of the German-style Biergarten event will accompany the opening day of the lakeside market and is located in the green space and pavilion adjacent to the promenade. Featuring Munchen’s Hofbrauhas Bier, the event will include a selection of German beers, craft beers and American ciders, as well as sausages, pretzels and other German-themed foods to purchase. Traditional music and stein hoisting competitions will complete the free, family-friendly experience.

The dates and times for the three-day event are as follows: Friday, October 1, 4 pm to 9 pm; Saturday October 2 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday October 3 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

All guests are urged to follow the social distancing guidelines recommended by the CDC. Masks are recommended when adequate social distancing is not possible.
