TikToker’s dunkin ‘love story melts hearts

A TikToker’s Dunkin ‘love story melts hearts through the app.

User @ aka_6.6 uploaded the original version of their viral video in December 2020, but re-uploaded the clip with an update on September 23. The original upload, which is also the first video on @ aka_6.6’s page, garnered over 12 million views. The re-uploaded clip garnered its fair share of attention, gaining just under 7 million views in 24 hours.

The video shows Aimen – or @ aka_6.6 – heading to the drive-thru window of a Dunkin ‘location. As he offers payment, he asks the employee to also write the order for the car behind him on his card. The employee obliges and accepts even a simple handwritten note from Aimen to be attached to the order. The note, which Aimen sends to the camera before handing it over, is simple and sweet. “Hey,” he said. “I thought you were beautiful. Enjoy your day, and I hope it puts a smile on your face for the day! The bottom of the note includes Aimen’s phone number, which is blacked out for the video.

As Aimen walks away from the window, he rearranges his phone to watch, through his rearview mirror, the woman in a small black car receiving her free lunch and message. Through the mirror, a woman in a dark hijab can be seen receiving the message, which makes her smile. As she receives the rest of her order, Aimen compliments the hardworking employee. “Hey, the employee of the year award right there,” he said.

The video ends there, but not Aimen’s love story. In fact, his TikTok page is basically a tribute to his romance with the woman in the little black car, whose name turned out to be Kamila.

After their chance meeting with Dunkin, Kamila texted Aimen. He explained, via a comment on her original video, that she sent a message shortly after the video was filmed. In Part 2, he shared screenshots of the texts as well as his thanks to all the viewers who helped his video explode.

Kamila’s first text starts off strong, thanking Aimen for pre-purchasing her meal and noting that he “made me smile”.

Aimen’s response notes the scrubs Kamila wore when the two met, and, building on the “overwhelming times in the medical field,” Aimen calls the gesture a “small token of my appreciation.”

Once the two have introduced themselves, the sparks begin to fly. Their conversation gradually becomes more casual as the two swap ages and tease each other about future reunions at the Dunkin ‘location.

Later videos show the couple dating, falling in love, and eventually getting engaged. It also shows their persistent attempts to track down the Dunkin ’employee who started it all, so he can receive their thanks, as well as an invitation to their wedding.

They never managed to find the employee, but Aimen and Kamila eventually got married. After her re-uploading the clip that started their romance, Aimen also added a video compiling footage from the couple’s big day. The duo look elated as they dance with their family, cut the cake, and generally melt viewers’ hearts with their unexpected romance.

Many viewers, some of whom have been following the story since that first upload to TikTok, share their joy in the comments section. People were genuinely invested in Aimen and Kamila’s story and found themselves delighted to learn that Aimen’s simple Dunkin ‘gesture was the first step towards their happiness forever.

A few people give recommendations for the next steps. One of them suggested that Aimen and Kamila, who identify as “Dunkin’s drive-thru couple” in their TikTok biography, should “name your first child Dunkin”.

Other commentators, many of whom recalled seeing the original download in 2020, were delighted to hear that Aimen and Kamila have found themselves together. They shared their kudos in the comments, praising both the couple and the drive-thru employee who made this possible.

Aimen and Kamila delve into their origins with a brand of coffee the couple recently launched called “Sweet Eye Coffee”.

The Daily Dot contacted Aimen and Kamila.
