Three things that ‘will definitely happen’ if Paul Pogba leaves Manchester United – Omar Garrick

It looks like there is a real possibility that Paul Pogba will leave Manchester United at the end of the season as he has yet to sign a new deal.

There has been so much speculation over the past few seasons surrounding his future, and it looks like his time at Old Trafford is coming to an end.

I always thought Pogba was a world class player, but he doesn’t look comfortable playing in a United shirt. That is why I think it is better for both parties that he leaves in the summer.

It got us thinking, so our United in my mind Writer Omar Garrick has listed three things that “will definitely happen” if Paul Pogba leaves Manchester United.

1. A replacement will be found

When / if Paul Pogba finally leaves United, you can be sure that Ralf Rangnick will already have a replacement.

Some United fans argue that a Pogba replacement was needed a long time ago because he fell short of expectations. There are times he shows off, but there are other times he ghosts in matches.

Pogba is supposed to be a box-to-box midfielder, and when he wears a France jersey he seems to play that role on a regular basis. Yet at United we still see him playing as a left winger and attacking midfielder, as well as a number eight role.

If we go statistics, Pogba looks like a Rangnick player, but others might as well do the job.

I think United will try to sign Jude Bellingham if Pogba leaves. The club wanted to have him at 16 when he was at Birmingham, and with Borussia Dortmund he excelled in his development. It will be expensive, but I have a feeling Rangnick will want it. It will also be a statement.

On the other hand, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a rogue choice of a midfielder. Either way, I trust Rangnick’s decision.

2. No Mino Raiola customers … yet

Most United fans are fed up with Mino Raiola’s antics, and it feels like a broken relationship.

It all started with Sir Alex Ferguson expressing his dislike for him, and since then it seems like things have taken a wrong turn.

There have been countless occasions when the Italian has caused drama or wanted his client to walk for the exit door which is why many supporters want Pogba to leave too. He brings too much baggage, not because of him, but because of his agent.

If or when Pogba leaves Old Trafford, United will be free of any Mino Raiola clients, but it may not be long before he gets another. If they are successful in their quest for Erling Haaland, they will go round in circles again. That’s why I think United are taking a risk with the Norwegian striker.

3. The French connection could be almost finished

I loved that United had a French atmosphere in the dressing room because in the modern era France has been the best national team, producing the best players.

Of course United will still have Raphael Varane, but with Anthony Martial’s option to leave in January Rangnick will have a senior French player on his squad if Pogba moves on.

Sounds like the end of an era at Old Trafford. Gone are the days of getting excited about a few fascinating tips from individual talents. If Pogba leaves United, it will symbolize a new era, which is the most exciting part of everything.

Currently United have the best squad since Sir Alex Ferguson retired. It will be interesting to see how the team and Rangnick react to Pogba’s departure, but judging by the German’s previous comments, no one should be at the club if they don’t want to. He won’t take any prisoners, no matter how tall you are.
