The Germanfest picnic will take place this weekend in St. Anne’s Hill

Over the past few years, Germanfest has focused on expanding the authentic dining options available at the festival. Needless to say, we believe they have accomplished their mission.

German Schnitzel dinners, kids and personalized dishes with brötchen, famous Liederkranz potato salad, sauerkraut and pretzels are all on the menu. A wide variety of amazing authentic desserts including Bienenstich and Strudel, will also be available.

These and more items will also be available for pickup to go on Friday, August 13 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday, August 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, August 15 from noon to 2 p.m. take out order by visiting the Dayton Liederkranz-Turner website.

No other event in the region can match the German draft and bottled beers available at Germanfest. This year’s festivities will feature a solid selection of German draft, craft and national beers. A selection of German wines and spirits completes the drink menu.

The festival will feature German-style entertainment including Aaron Dussing and the Polka Revolution which will perform on Friday, Band 5 playing on Saturday afternoon, and The Klaberheads perform on Saturday evenings and Sunday.

The Germanfest Picnic features several other activities, including a children’s playground, cultural exhibit, virtual fashion show, competition for the best German potato salad and more. The full program of events is available on the Germanfest Picnic Facebook page.
