Taapsee Pannu star Looop Lapeta to release on Netflix, actor says ‘time to run’

Taapsee Pannu revealed on Monday that his upcoming movie Looop Lapeta is headed for digital release on Netflix. She made the announcement with a movement poster with the caption “Time is running out and it’s time to run.” Looop Lapeta is the official Hindi remake of the German movie Run Lola Run. It also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin.

The video has a trance-like feel and gives us a glimpse into the world of Looop Lapeta, promising it will be a fun and exciting ride. Taapsee, who just came off the success of Rashmi Rocket, wrote with the video on Instagram, “Can’t wait for you all to see the movie! #LooopLapeta, a feature film by Sony Pictures Films India and Ellipsis Entertainment Production, directed by Aakash Bhatia.

In Looop Lapeta, Taapsee plays the role of Savi. Tahir on the hand plays her on-screen lover named Satya. Earlier this year, Tahir introduced her character to her audience with a social media post. “Dear Savi, tujhse mill kar meri life badal gayi (life changed after I met you) and all it took was one day. Sometimes when we’re together I can feel the time stands still. When you laugh it seems to slip by. We obviously bend the definition of time and now, literally, it has to be put to the test. The only stakes higher than living or dying are love and loss “So run, run right to keep us going! I’m placing my bets on you,” Tahir wrote with a poster of his film.

Run Lola Run starred Franka Potente and Moritz Bleibtreu. Taapsee puts himself in Franka’s shoes. Earlier this year, Taapsee explained why she was reluctant to sign the film, but ultimately continued.

In an Instagram post, Taapsee wrote, “I ran behind some movies and some luckily fell on my knees. With this (Loop Lapeta) being the last, I couldn’t be more grateful to these guys and the line of luck in my palm. From entering the narrative with the idea of saying no, to leaving it with an immediate yes, thanks to these gentlemen for being hooked on a solid script and concept for years and for being more sure that I am. Knew that I was.
