Sarajevo Film Festival sets competition lineup – Deadline

The Sarajevo Film Festival has unveiled its competition line-up for this year’s festival, starring Marie Kreutzer Bodice and the documentary “Liturgy Of Anti-Tank Obstacles” by Ukrainian filmmaker Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk selected in the feature and documentary categories respectively.

A total of 51 films will compete for the festival’s coveted Heart Of Sarajevo awards in four competition sections: feature films, documentaries, short films and student films. The selection includes 20 world premieres, eight international premieres, one European premiere, 21 regional premieres and a Bosnia and Herzegovina premiere.

Additional titles featured in the main competition program this year include Aida Begić A balladthat of Dominik Mencej Riders and Ukrainian-Turkish production Klondike. In the documentary section, Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk, whose film Pamfir played in the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs at Cannes earlier this year, will see its Liturgy of anti-tank obstacles doc has its world premiere in the section.

The program was open to films and filmmakers from Albania, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey and Ukraine.

28e edition of the Sarajavo Film Festival will take place from August 12 to 16.
