In an exclusive interview with Newsweek, actor José MarÃa Yazpik admitted he found it strange to explore the love life of Amado Carrillo Fuentes onscreen. Ultimately, Yazpik felt the approach was âwell balancedâ for the scenario.
âIt was weird,â he explained. “I mean seasons past, you’ve also seen the main characters dive into their relationships, etc. But it’s well known that Amado Carrillo was sort of a ladies’ man, especially when he lived here in Mexico City.”
Yazpik continued, âIt’s weird, feels weird because you don’t want an action-packed, socially demanding role to go into the kind of melodramatic state. But I think it’s very well balanced. After the first readings of the [scripts], it seemed natural to me to do so.
Yazpik said it was great to “dive” into your character “more emotionally than physically”

Towards the end of the series, Marta walks into the house Amado gave her. Two wine glasses were placed on the piano and a toy airplane that Amado gave to his late daughter. Narcos: Mexico fans speculated that the scene hinted at Amado alive and reuniting with Marta. Additionally, the mysterious circumstances surrounding his death suggest that Amado escaped authorities. So, is Amado really dead? Based on his sudden death, the circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unresolved.
