Dubai: the list of activities of the largest fountain in the world, the Pointe de Palm Jumeirah

Dubai: Here’s why you need to start your winter exploration of Dubai with a trip to the tip of the Palm Jumeirah, the iconic Nakheel waterfront destination. The site kicked off the outdoor entertainment season with an exclusive fountains and fireworks show to celebrate the opening of Expo 2020.

As Expo 2020 Dubai was declared open, the world’s largest fountain lit up in Expo’s white and blue colors while rocking to the official song, This is Our Time. The show was followed by fireworks.

The attraction is all set with a full range of celebrations, live music performances, dining offerings and more. Strict health and safety measures, including social distancing and regular disinfection, will be in place at all times during all events.

German National Day: Tuesday 5 October

Celebrate German Unity Day, or German National Day, at The Pointe with a one-of-a-kind fountain show to the rock anthem Wind of Change by popular German band Scorpions. Shows take place hourly from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., starting October 5, and will be added to La Pointe’s annual fountain show program.

Korean Festival with K-pop: Thursday October 14 to Saturday October 16

La Pointe will host its first Korean festival with a free Korean village at the entrance to La Pointe, under the monorail, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., from October 14 to 16.

On Friday, October 15, K-pop fans can book tickets to attend an exclusive concert by South Korean boy group Super Junior on the West Point Promenade. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and will be rounded off with K-pop dance performances and a stunning fireworks display, accessible only to ticket holders. Tickets will be available for purchase on and ticket holders can enjoy the show by reserving a table at the restaurants available on the West Promenade.

Visitors are advised to come early as the venue is limited. They must also present a valid and negative PCR test or proof of vaccination.

Austrian National Day: Thursday 21 and Saturday 23 October

Celebrate Austrian National Day in style at La Pointe and enjoy the sound of Austria with a musical evening with the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra and a spectacular Palm Fountain show on the East Point side on October 21 and 23 for two exclusive shows from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Performing original musical scores such as Vienna Stays Vienna, Gold and Silver Waltz and The Blue Danube Waltz, the orchestra will also dedicate a unique performance to the United Arab Emirates on October 23.

Diwali: Friday November 5

Bringing together cultures and traditions from around the world, La Pointe celebrates Diwali, the Festival of Lights, on Friday November 5 from 8 p.m. to midnight, with a fountain show every hour, shows and a spectacular fireworks display.

United Arab Emirates National Day: Thursday, December 2

La Pointe will welcome visitors to mark the UAE’s 50th National Day on December 2, with a dedicated fountain show choreographed to the tunes of hit songs “Ya Salam Ya Dubai” and “Dubai is Another Planet” by singer Rashed Al-Majed play every hour from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. The palm fountain will also light up in the national colors of the United Arab Emirates: green, white and red. La Pointe restaurants will also celebrate with promotions and discounts on their menus.

Festive tree lighting: Friday, December 10

Brighten up the start of the holiday season even more with the La Pointe tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. on December 10. The waterfront destination will also offer winter activities, decorations and special fountain shows throughout the holiday season.

New Year’s Eve: Friday December 31

Ring in 2022 with stunning views and an evening filled with music, lights and delicious food on December 31st.

How to get there

Parking and transport

Visitors are encouraged to take public transportation to La Pointe. Free daily shuttles are available from Nakheel Mall every half hour from 5:00 p.m. to midnight, or use the paid parking lot with a limited number of spaces at the East or West Promenade of the Pointe parking lot.

Free shuttles also run from hotels and residences in Palm Jumeirah and locations at Al Barsha, Al Sufouh and Jumeirah Beach Residences.
