Netflix is out the first trailer for Army of Thieves at their Tudum event on Saturday. The film is a prequel to Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead zombie heist film. And while Army of Thieves doesn’t have any zombies – it’s billed as “a heist romantic comedy film” – it brings back Army of the Dead German cracker Ludwig Dieter, once again played by Matthias Schweighöfer, who also directs the film.

The official synopsis sheds more light on what Army of Thieves is:
“In this prequel to Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, Dieter, a small town bank teller, is embroiled in the adventure of a lifetime when a mysterious woman recruits him to join a team of Most Wanted Criminals. of Interpol, attempting to rob a streak of legendary, impossible-to-decipher vaults across Europe. “

The cast includes Nathalie Emmanuel (the Fast & Furious franchise, Game of Thrones) as Gwendoline, who recruits Dieter for the heist. Ruby O. Fee and Stuart Martin co-starred.
Although Zack Snyder did not direct Army of Thieves, he is the producer with his wife Deborah Snyder and Wesley Coller.
